Obituary: Ronald Eugene Cornelison

Ronald E. Cornelison, 66, of Lorimor, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at his home. A 2 p.m. memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Lorimor Community Building, where the family will greet friends immediately following the service. Ronald was born Aug. 30, 1943 in Osceola, the son of Wayne W. and Opal D. (Miller) Cornelison. He attended school in Murray and Truro, and graduated from East Union High School in 1962. Later Ronald joined the U.S. Air Force, where he was a jet mechanic; he was honorably discharged from service in 1966. Ronald Cornelison was married March 28, 1964, to Ruby Irene Bailey in Belton, Mo. Ronald worked as a mechanic and in construction as a heavy equipment operator for various employers. He was also a member of the Lorimor City Council and was recently appointed mayor protem.

Ron is survived by his wife, Ruby of Lorimor; daughter, Renea Cornelison and her husband, Tim Beaty of Prescott; son, Randy Cornelison and his wife, Lisa of Adel; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Cornelison of Hagerman, Idaho, and a brother-in-law, George Kelly of Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kimberly Kelly.
